Volunteer Me!
Volunteer Up

To volunteer, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 422-4828, or click the VolunteerUP link above. Below is a quick sketch of what's available:

Work on the Building Site: Working on the building site is possible for small to medium sized groups much of the time. Another good way to get out on site on a more systematic basis is to join the Hospitality Committee (see below). For large groups, sponsoring a house is the best way to get onto a work site.

Construction Committee: Is involved in many hidden aspects of the building process. It also runs the ReStore, picks up donated items and many other activities.

Family Advocate: Family Advocates work with our partner families as they work towards receiving their new home. This is a great way to see the human side of what we do. Training is provided, and volunteer hours are flexible. Click here for more details.

ReStore: Volunteers needed to help staff the ReStore, where we sell new and used donations that are inappropriate for our construction needs. Volunteer responsibilities would be to help unload donations and work with customers.

Can Drive:  Did you know that 5 million cans will build a home? Aluminum can route people are needed. We will supply the van and the gasoline; volunteers commit four hours a week. Monday through Saturday routes are available.

Donation Pick Up People: We need someone to drive our donation pick up truck, and someone to help load and unload it.

Family Selection Committee: Conducts the selection process for families who are willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity.

Family Support Committee: Plans home owner events. Works with partner families one on one, helping them get to the point where they receive their home.

Hospitality Committee: Works with volunteers on the work site. Signs them in, gives safety lectures, and works alongside them.

Fund Raising Committee: Plans and executes events and fundraisers.

Public Relations Committee: Reaches out to Churches and Corporations. Prepares publications. Maintains the web site.

Volunteer Committee: Finds new volunteers. Conducts volunteer orientations.
